steering stabilizer

    i have a 99 gmc 2500 old style i am having trouble getting the steering stabilizer off. i can get every bolt off but one that is on passenger side i got the nut off but it still wont come off. is there something else i have to do

    I don't know if this applies to yours, But back when I was in the auto biz some of these stabilizers were mounted with one stud going thru a drag link or tie-rod link. They were a tapered fit so I would smack the bottom of the link at the stud and it would pop right loose.

    And, another tools that you can use is called a "Pickle Fork". They are cheap to buy at the auto parts store. They can also be rented. Stick it into the joint and give it a good whack with a "B.F.H.", and it should come right out.
