I've always used wall stone caps for the treads on any of the steps I build, however, I am seing more and more jobs done by other contractors who are using pavers.

It makes sense that this will help to cut the cost of a project some, but personally I dont care much for the appearance that pavers only give.

Just wondering who where is using the paver tread method and what are your thoughts / reasons for doing so?

The majority of the time I use wall stone caps for the treads. The last three times I used pavers. The reason I did was that's what the clients wanted. They knew what they wanted & requested it be incorporated in my design. They wanted Unilock Brussels Block & wanted me to use the XL Stone as the tread. They saw it in the Unilock catalog & thought it was cool looking. The next two jobs were neighbors of the first clients & they also wanted that look as well.
