I need some ideas on a large storage lot that I spray for a Bridge company. It's covers approx. 6 acres with I beams, forms and alot of other misc.

I sprayed it twice last year, once with glyphos and the 2nd with glyphos and Diuron as a sterilant... The 2nd app. was later in the year with little rain afterwards... I was not impressed with the performance of the Diuron. Is there another product or products that I can use for sterilization? I want to treat this property earlier this year and only once as it's a pain to spray in the first place..

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!!

you could use Pramitol but you need to be careful of runoff.

Lesco sells a product called Sahara good product. No worry about run off bonds well to soil.

Thanks for the help, I will check into both of those.. Runoff is of no concern, It's in an area where it really doesn't matter.

  5. I use a lot of Sahara with good results.

sahara is a good choice and the diuron was a good half of what you actually needed. Instead of glyphosate, look up a combo with oust. these two together have been the staple of serious sterilant jobs for quite a while. BTW...I hate pramitol. what an overrated, market-hype driven piece of ---- that is.

    Surflan.

On wide open industrial sites, the orange makes it easy to see where you've been. At the highest rate, we get year round control. Combine with Roundup and spray once a year.

For the best bareground weed control (sterilant) we use Du-pont
Krovar IDF at 12# per acre pluse 5# diuron. We do oilfield leases
that are mainly gravel and dirt.

We get excellent control when applied in late Feb. - Mar. If you
apply later you will want to add 2-4-d and glyphosate for quicker
burn down. You will get at least one year control at this rate. If
we have a lot of rain throughout the year we sometimes see break-
through in low lying spots. Krovar and diuron both need moisture
to be activated into the root zone of the weeds.

You might also look at using dupont krovar idf at 12#'s plus dupont
landmark xp at 4.5 ounces for broader spectrum control. The landmark xp
is a sulfonylurea, so be sure to clean tank well after use. We use different
spray rigs for our yard spraying, so this isn't an issue for us.

We aways use a dye or colorant in tank mix. One thing to keep in mind
is that you will need mechanical agitation or extreme jet agitation in tank
    or product will settle out.

If you run the krovar at 18# you will get descent Johnsongrass and Bermuda
    grass suppression.
