What the best stick edger for the money?
You will get a bunch of answers, but the truth is that there are several brands that will work well for you and last. I have been happy with my Stihl. It is 4 yrs old. I would get the most powerful one you feel good about weight wise. Those edges can get nasty on lawns that haven't been edged regularly.
Do a search here, lots of threads on this topic.
I would look at
Echo, (Not the Home Depot crap)
Find a dealer with good people.
I have an Echo PE-311 I bought used at the beginning of last season. Works great, lots of power, never had any issues with it.
I've only had RedMax and Kawasaki. Although I primarily buy RedMax and the two are virtually the same size, my Kawasaki has considerable more power than my RedMax.
IMO, big power in stick edgers is not mentioned enough here.
