I'm looking for a new dedicated trimmer, the Stihl 100RX seems like it would be a good choice, does anyone use one?I'd also like suggestions on alternative trimmers in the same class?

I bought the Stihl 100 RX last year and really like it. Lightweight, lots of power and fuel efficient and pretty quiet too. Only drawback is you can't put on attachments, so I was told. I think you need to go to the FS110 model for that. Other units you might want to look at, if you want a dedicated trimmer are:
    1. Echo SRM260 or the high torque 261
    2. Shindaiwa T230-lightweight but good.
    3. Redmax 2400 and 2500 series.
