I'm looking for a lightweight and RELIABLE dedicated string trimmer,it's between a Stihl 100RX and a Shindaiwa T230,which would you choose and why? Thanks.

I would choose the 100RX for the pure power of the unit. Very reliable. I had a 230 for one season and it did not hold up very well.

Both are great trimmers so you will be happy with either one. It just depends if you want a 4-mix or a 2 cycle engine.

I havent tried the shindy 230 but I used to own an fs100rx and it was a great unit. Only problem I had was a bad coil replaced under warranty...great power to weight ratio and very little fuel consumption.
