Had to replace pistol grip and cable, so off came air cleaner, carb and coil. Put everything back on and a unit that took one choke pull then one non-choke pull to start has become a bear to start. 8-9 HARD pulls. New plug, good fuel/air filters. Only variable I see is perhaps coil gap? Used a business card like the dealer suggested...Would like some comments before taking the whole thing back apart. Coil gap make a difference?

When you do get it running, does it run normal ? Using a biz card is a normal way alot of guys set the coil. What I would look at is, is the new throttle giving you full motion, is the choke closing and just on the off chance that when it is closed, is there a gap from the choke plate not seating flush against the hole to the carb. Also check to see if you might have a kink in the fuel line or a leak in the fuel line near where it connects to the carb.
    Hope this helps
