I got the blower out of the garage today to get some leaves out from under my shrubs. It started easy, but when I run it at full power it has almost like a high pitched squeal. Is this normal or what causes it? It is also cold out so could that be the cause? 40 degrees out right now. Thanks :dizzy:

Most units only have bearing on the cranshaft and those are lubed by the oil in the gas. Take the plug out and turn the piston over slowly to see if there is a drag from engine. Maybe you got a twig stuck somewhere that is causing the noise.

Interesting....pull starter cover to be sure it is intact. If everything is fine there I would look at the fan assy and the only other possible thing would be part of the coil rubbing onthe flywheel. Befoer you strip it down I would stop by your local outdoor power equipment dealer and borrow his ear. He may have the solution in a jiffy just by hearing it. Good Luck
