This guy starts right up when the engine is cold, but floods out while trying to start it hot. The air filter is clean and the plug is good. Can I make an adjustment of some kind to fix this?

    Thanks

:blob3: r u choking the machine when it is hot if so this could be your problem. when hot just try pulling the rope after a pull or 2 then go to choke. tony

check out the screen on the exhaust port, just remove the clamp and screen and see it this makes a difference.

"DO NOT choke this unit when hot just pull the rope"

I wish it was that simple. I've got deeper problems.

I am having the same problem with my BR400 and went through the same suggested solutions with no luck. Just wondering if you found the solution.

Welcome to Lawnsite Jbrock47, this is an old post(2004) Sthil BR400 blowers are prone to ignition coil failures, if this is an older unit and it will only start when its cold or after it has cooled down I would check the spark with an in-line tester after the unit warms up, if it even looks weak I would replace it.
    Good luck, hope this helps:)
