Remember the more you push a saw to preform the shorter the life will be in some why. Think about your body, you push yourself beyond capabilities constantly, you are going to start slowing down and possibly get hurt. The saw is the same way. It puts more stress on parts that were not designed to operate at that level.

Many guys do stuff to their saws, I just buy a bigger one.

I have a Stihl MS441 Magnum. I had my dealer, who owns his own shop and logging business and is an awesome Amish guy and one of the best guys to bounce things off of and knows all of his stuff and doesn't try and shister you. I recently had him open the muffler up, and adjust the carb. Anything else you guys like to do that cranks out a bit more power besides porting it that won't hurt the saw or decrease the life?
