I have a STIHL 100RX trimmer and everytime I start it the engine sounds like it is not getting gas, I have to burp the throttle so it does not stop. After I run it for about 5 minutes it runs fine until I stop and start it again. It does this off and on year round. I am using Pennzoil 2 cycle oil could that be the problem?

Yeah I would say it's the oil. It sounds like your exhaust screen is plugged, or you have excess carbon build up somewhere. It's recommended that you run a synthetic 2-stroke oil in the 4-mix's, mainly to prevent carbon build up. Try running some Stihl Ultra oil, or Amsoil Saber at 80:1 w/ 89 or higher gas and see if that fixes the problem.

I ran the trimmer today it ran fine no problems at all. I did run some carb cleaber thru my last tank on gas. I did not change my oil over to synthetic yet. I wonder why sometimes it runs fine sometimes it seems like it is not getting fuel?
