Is anyone currently running the Stihl FS80? If so....
    1. How do you like it?
    2. Ever had any problems?
    3. How does the flex cable drive do?
    4. Would you buy another one?

Your input is greatly appreciated... Thanks

I've used two in a lawn service. The old one looked beat to hell but ran great. The new one that they bought over this summer was great and balanced. I would prefer the steel shaft though. I looked in a stihl book and saw that the fs80 is recommended for "light" commcial use. Check out the fs 90. More power steel shaft and attachment capable. Hope this helps.

We've been using 2 of them for about 4 years. The only problems I have had were a torn primer bulb and several worn out bump heads. Other than that- no problems. "Light commercial work" for us means clearing fence lines that have been overgrown for about a year. That is about the toughest thing that we use them for. I wouldn't use it to clear out a swamp but it does a great job on anything up to the size of a pencil. For regular maintenance it will last you for years.

Been using them for over three years with no problems. If you miss the steel shaft the dealer can put one in. No problems with the flex cable and it has a lifetime warranty so no worries.

That is my main trimmer, FS80, excellent trimmer, easy to carry and crank, scream like warrior. If you like 2 stroke engine that put Stihl on the map, you need that FS80. If you bushhog, then you need different trimmer, but for regular lawn service, it is the one, easy on money too.
