The stihl ones suck. We use WorkTunes and they work really well. The foam padding in the stihl wore out quick and henceforth didn't reduce noise as well. Plus the stihl's are really expensive, like 100. The worktunes are at the Lowe's hear for $50/pair.

I did know STIHL made these..... Can you plug your two-way radio into them?

I use the sthil ones there like 85, and the work tune are only 20 db were as the sthil are 25 db. But the turn dial tuner sucks and they are really uncomfortable the ear well is to shallow and after awhile your ear hurts really bad. But sure is nice to listen to something on the radio than listen to them voices in my head!

    so castlerockmo,

would you suggest getting the stihl or not?
i noticed they block out 25db, which is more than most.
i currently wear stihl hp 29 ear muffs (that block out 29db) and they are comfortable for the most part....

I like them for the fact that they are 25db

But they hurt my ears during the day and if you wear sun glasses it makes it worse. The other thing I had a problem with the volume knob it got hung up and wouldn't turn I had to take it apart, I really don't know what I did but they are working now. If I bought another pair I think I would look for something different, maybe the husqvarna head phones.

Gosh, my foam ear plugs that I buy in a box of 200 lasts many years,
never require batteries, don't get hung up on branches, the padding
doesn't wear out, don't hurt while wearing goggles...

    Granted it's quiet.

    But, isn't that the point?
