I'm with you, I have their trimmers both two cycle and 4-mix. Same with their blowers. Also have pole saws, hedge trimmer, edgers, hand tools, don't have the shorts though. So I guess that would qualify me as a junkie.:dizzy:

Love all my Stihl stuff! If Stihl makes it and I need it, I'm buying Stihl.

Hey Major, do wanna get rid of any of your Stihl stuff thats taking up space?

Although I do own a lot of Stihl equipment but I don't consider myself a Stihl junkie. Let's see, I have a Stihl trimmer, edger, handheld blower, hedge trimmer and a BR600. But I also just bought (in January) a Shindaiwa T-231 and I own a Husky 36 chainsaw. I think it has more to do with I really like dealing with one particular dealer and all he sells is Stihl. He makes me some good deals on equipment and he has given me a lot of stuff over the years.

WJW, my dealer gave me a Stihl metal sign a couple of years ago. It's about 1 foot by 2 foot and it's in real good shape.

Lets see, I have had or have (have had to replace stolen stuff twice!)...
    • 1 FS 80 Trimmer
    • 2 BG 85 Blowers, 1 Leaf collection system for it.
    • 2 Farm Boss Pro series Chain Saws, 1 case -best damn chain saw ever
    • 1 HS 80 Hedge Trimmer
    • 2 Kombi 110, string trimmer head, articulating hedge shear head, rototiller, lawn edger
    • Protective helmet with ear muffs and face shield
    • "4-Mix" Ball Cap

I have had my share of carb problems and I know other companies products might be lighter or more powerful but overall, you just gotta love the STIHL:usflag:
I always buy the top model, no point to getting the lower ones knowing what paces I am going to put them through.

  8. The secret to getting Stihl stuff to start is to use synthetic 2-cycle oil. It eleminates the fouling and gumming up.

I have Stihl mostly because that's what my dealer chooses to sell me. Just put it on a synthetic diet and it'll start.

Oh man, thats the best thing they make. In fact its so good, my model chain saw has been around since '91 without any changes! And they will not make them low emissions, they take emission credits from the 4-mix line of equipment in order to leave the saws alone.

Listen, if you can only afford one saw, to be used for both trimming and felling, get the MS260 Pro. This is what I use, its light enough to carry up in the tree, but powerful enough to cut the tree down. Unfortunately it costs $550 but worth every penny.

If anyone can tell me anything about the FS106 trimmer it would be greatly appreciated. I posted pics on a thread entitled Stihl FS106.
