I hope I am calling it the right thing but who removes the spark arrestor (screen on the muffler) from their stihl equipment I have removed them from all of mine new and old. What are your thoughts advantages disadvantages.

I leave mine on because I do a few properties that border BLM (Colorado Govt) land and if a fire starts and I was around using them I could be blamed.
Other wise I'd yank them off. I do take them off and use a torch to clean them every once in a while.

I have mine on but when I burn the fuel out in the fall at night the sparks fly right out of the thing. Any idea is it supposed to stop them?
