I have a stihl fs90r trimmer and bought the edger attachment from the kombi system that I bolt on and use but my question is will the 135 degree kombi hedger attachment work the same way?

Yes, it will fit. All of the shafts are the same. I have a HL100 with the articulating head. You can swap out any of the attachments. Including the pole saw, string trimmer head, straight edger even the cultivator. Barrier bars, or different handles may be the difference on the attachment guide. Also, some attachments may require a different orientation of the set screw. But, they all fit.

IIRC, the Kombi system is different than the gearbox attachments. Please correct me if I'm wrong here.

If you pull the set screws, and remove the short Kombi shaft. The attachments themselves are the same. If Stihl was a bit more open about that, they would sell a lot more attachments (probably a few less Kombi systems. Takes less than 5 minutes once you've done it. You should probably wipe down the shaft before pulling the gear box to keep "the guts" clean.

I find it a tolerable means to share one power head between several occasional use tools. Wouldn't want to yank the head off my trimmer all the time, but hedge trimmers and pole saw attachments work out fine.

Having shopped for a new trimmer lately, I found myself questioning why the 'gearbox attachments' were pricier than the Kombi attachments...which didn't make sense to me since they're much more simple = not having a driveshaft or knuckle joint/connection junction.
