I am looking at buying a stihl fs 85 trimmer. Any pitfalls or compliments would be helpful.
that is funny that you said that, my head went today on mine. It made it almost 4 years with only a choke lever that needed to replaced until today.
Look at the fs110. Much more low end torque.
Bought an fs80 and an fs85 about 2-3 weeks ago............
So far we like them.
We have two FS 85's and one FS 110. The 85's are good, but the 110 has more torque, more fuel efficient, and is a good bit quieter. I would buy the FS 110.
I am not looking to buy a super commercial trimmer. I think the 85 will do fine.
I got a 3season 85 & a 6 month old, i love em , never a prolem yet!
Pleased with my trimmers. 7 year old 80---2 year old 85.
i run 85% stihl handhelds.
Used my polesaw for the first time today. Sweeeeeeeet.
I am not 100% pleased with my MS310 Saw though.
I have never had a stihl product that needed repair yet but I take very good care of them. I have a chain saw, three trimmers, and a blower. I have one strait shaft comsumer model that I find my self using alot because its so light. It is not as powerful, holds less fuel, but it handles most jobs just fine. My 85's have been trouble free also but are a bit on the heavy side.
the 110 4 mix is the one to get aint that much higher in price over the 85 ...more torq and power and queiter ...great trimmer
