i need to purchase one trimmer and one edge for next season. so fs 110r and fc110 . I was thinking about just buying two fs 110r's and then just buy the edger and just installing it onto my older fs110r ? thanks

Use the FC110 for the Edger it has a solid shaft and is much stronger than the others, I have one and dont have any complaints about it.

I have both, 110fs trimmer and 110fc edger, they perform flawlessly.

we never use an edger. stihl fs80r/fs110r does the job.

we do have a km85 with an edger on it, but aint started it in 3 years.

The edger attachment where you replace the gearbox and all works well imo.

I have an FS-110 trimmer and the FC-110 edger. The power head and the shafts are identical (make sure you have the solid shaft models if you want to put an edger on one).
The only issue I see with buying the FS-110 and then buying the edger attachment is the cost. That edger front end will set you back $130 on top of what you pay for the trimmer. Just buy the FC-110 already set up and you will save a few bucks.

p.s. I love both these pieces of equipment!

Not cost effective. Go multi tool with the 110 series
