I have 2 Mantis tillers at work which are great machines but I am a die hard Sthil fan and have used the MM55 a few times. Has anyone have any feed back on the Stihl MM55? Likes/dislikes, problems, compared to the Mantis. Thanks ppl.

I have both a Honda-engine Mantis and the Stihl unit. I bought the Stihl to try when the Mantis was in the shop for the 3rd time for the POOR plastic throttle handle that constantly breaks. I've always loved Mantis. I think they till better than the Stihl, but from what I've seen using both, the Stihl is better built and more reliable. Mantis' seem to always have issues...engine bogs down randomly, throttle line comes off, makes funny noises...doesn't seem to take standard landscape abuse. I take good care of my stuff too!! Both are equally good at grading and tugging soil around but the Mantis wins on diggin in to better depths. The Stihl seems to like to stay on top of the ground more. Probably due to handle design differences...
