Striping Bermuda Grass

    Quick question.....is it a waste of time to strip bermuda grass?

    a short answer is yes.

    but there was a guy (I think his screen name is FESCUE FARMER) on here who posted some pics showing striped bermuda. it really depends on the setup of your mower.

    you might want to send fescue farmer a pm and see if he did any mods to his mower to make it stripe better.

    Answer to bermuda stripe, not really worth it. Common will not show stripes for very long after cut unless overseeded with rye then it looks great. The hybridized varieties will hold the stripes longer but you'd need to cut at pretty short heights and often. Golf courses here use a lot of Bermuda but greens are cut twice a day durring the summer at the best courses so theirs look good. As for resi. not really worth the trouble of getting a kit or anything.
