DC shunt used to measure amperage draw on starter in conjunction with a VOM/multimeter. Briggs number, as I recall, starts with 19.

Haven't used one in a long time since I got a clamp on ammeter. Best I remember the thumb screw end clamps over the neg post of a 12 volt battery. One test lead from pos battery post to ground on starter, the other test lead from end post of shunt to starter post. Attachment of VOM to red and black posts is straight forward.

    Am I close, Slapper?

Pretty close Dutch...part # does start with 19...
The only time I used one..(this 1 has never been used..still in the box)..was in a classroom..
I too use an amprobe...and wouldnt own a shunt if Briggs didnt make me buy one when I was a dealer..
Installing it on the Neg terminal is correct..

We were out at 5 doing a couple mini ranches in Lutz and I cut everybody loose at 2. I got a new guy that hopefully works out and I can get out of the heat for a while. Everybody says they can handle heat no problem. Then you find them panting at the water jug by the third stop. Try to tell guys living in Florida and working in it are two very different things.

Well. I have the shark steaks.
I know better than to try to negotiate.
It would prolly be easier to get a kohler to run on water.
Then agin, you prolly know how to do that too.

The 5 to 6 ft black tip sharks that joe billy catches for the seafood houses in his area are some of the mildest tasting fish to swim in the gulf..
    Good stuff...giant fillets...
It used to be fun back when my time was my own....
