stupid question

    I have a toro w/b belt driven. Once or twice a day the drive belts squeek real bad.

    Any suggestions

    WD -40 will quiet down a V belt on my truck other than that?

    Don't use wd-40 it's a lubricant, pick up some belt dressing, it is made to help keep the belts in good condition.

    I've never heard a stupid question,only stupid answers.It sounds like it's time to replace the belts,or doctor them with belt dressing until you can.

    The belts are probably only 1 month old.

    Then they probably have just stretched a little and need tightened up. No big deal....

    cut the belts off and throw them away! they wont squeek anymore!

    Norm Al: I've seen a trend in your posts. Not many of them are helpful or encouraging. I think I would speak on behalf of most people on this board and ask you to start posting encouraging/valuable advice or to just not speak at all.

    I am guessing that it is not the belts, it is probably the pivot point where the wheel pushes the belt down to drive. There isn't enough tension on the drive belts to make them squeal. WD40 or grease the pivot and see if that helps.
