I have a commercial customer that we are putting a landscape plan together for. I need suggestions on an evergreen hedge/screen that does not get much bigger than 6 ft. I am thinking Arborvitae 'Golden Biota'. Anybody have any suggestions/ We are zone 6 upstate NY.

Arb's are always nice, but make sure your customer knows they will be taller than 6' or need to be topped which I'm sure you know. Just trying to avoid that painful phone call a couple years down the road.
    Boxwoods maybe?
Holly? But they may not get you to 6'
Privet? I think they or some kinds are from the evergreen family but I may be mistaken?

If deer are a problem I'd stay away from Arbs. Maybe go with a juniper.

    Taxus Hicksii

I'm pretty nervous about arborvitae lately, the taxus is easier to get established.
