JUST WONDERING IF ANYONE HAS ONE OF THESE TRUCKS AND WHAT THEY LIKE OR DISLIKE ABOUT IT. I WAS CONSIDERING BUYING ONE I SAW AT THE GIE, BUT THE PRICE WAS AROUND 55 K....OUCH. ALSO THE HYDRAULIC TAILGATE LOOKS SLOW BUT THE FUEL SYSTEM SEEMS VERY GOOD. THE TRUCKS THEMSELVES ARE ABOUT 35 K SO THEY ARE GETTING 20 GRAND FOR A TAILGATE AND FUEL TANKS AND LETTERING. THEY DO LOOK NICE THOUGH.payup

Hi, we currently have 3 SLT (super lawn truck). One is an izuzu based chasis while the other two are sitting on a ford f-450 and f-550. The izuzu and 450 are our maintainence trucks. Each can carry 2 48" TTHP, 1 36" TTHP, 1 21" push mower, two trimmer mounts but carries 3 in it, 1 back pack blower, and 2 3-yard bushel bags. During the spring and fall, we can fit up to 3 aerators and 1 power raker in with all this. The hydraulic gates take longer than conventional trailer gates, but it also has to do with the fact that the bed is 3 feet higher than a regular trailer. A benefit is that you don't have to unload your trailer at night, can simply lock it up and leave. The fuel system is a very big benefit, can typically fill it up on a monday and use it all week on that tank. The 550 we had customized to run our fertilization program out of it. Carries 3 tanks, 2 200 gal tanks and 1 100 gal tank. Plus can put up to 2 pallets of dry chemicals in it. Overall, the SLT are a big improvement in the production of our maintainence. Can get anywhere that does not allow trailers and won't take up large amounts of space.

If you are in a heavily populated area, that might be a good option. For the money though, you can buy a really nice 3/4 or 1 ton 4x4 and a nice enclosed driving billboard trailer. You can also buy a 100 gal gas tank & pump for about $500
