Currently, I run shindaiwa trimmers. I have a municipal contract to trim 2 feet on each side of about 60000 feet of guardrail. Has Tanaka ever experimented with a trimmer that had a very long shaft (10 to 12 feet)? I think something like that would be very helpful for me an my crew to get under the rails.

I would be very interested in testing (and purchasing) your extended shaft weedeater. What are its specs?

I've always wondered why companies, especially those with split shaft trimmers, don't make different length trimmer heads.

Not every guy is 5'10. I've had a guy in the past work with me that's about 6'5, and it was nearly impossible for him to trim, because the trimmer was too short.

Also, when you're trying to get up behind pine trees that are along fences, it'd be nice to be able to reach in there an extra foot or so.
