I've got an '03 Super Z with 650 hours, and today the right wheel motor went out. It never gave any warning and was tracking the same as the left motor. It would stop and start and then died completely. I read another post that said if the motor was shot it would probably take the pump with it. I jacked it up, loosened the free wheeling valve and the wheel is locked unless you move it back and forth, then it will give a little and then lock up again. Can I replace the motor first and then the pump if needed, or will that just screw up the new motor if the pump is shot? It should have the White CE782383-18 motor but the only marking that I can see on the motor housing is CE01399. Also, is J. Thomas the cheapest place to get a replacement or does someone know of a better place?
