This is not for profit, it's for educational purposes. I am a part time landscaper and a full time design student. I was in landscaping for 4 years working with my Father and brother. Having hands on experience with equipment, I have problems with in the design. Keeping that in mind has direct my path on designing equipment for residential and commercial consumers.

I am designing a trailer for residential and commercial landscapers. By answering these questions, I would have a understanding of the user needs in my design.

    1. What is your nationality? (optional)
    2. What is your age? (optional)
    3. Do you work in Residential and/or commercial locations?
    4. Is finding parking an issue when arriving on the job site?
    5. What vehicle manufacture do you drive for work?
    6. Do you own a trailer for work?
    7. If yes, is it a cargo trailer or a open landscape trailer?
    8. Do you have issues when it comes to storing and accessing equipment?
    9. What brand of equipment do you own?
    10. What brand of power tools do you use on the job?
    11. Other than equipment, what other "needs" are used on the job? (Example: water container)
    12. Is the trailer you own a single axle or tandem axle?
    13. Do you work on a rainy day?
    14. Are there any features you would like to have on a trailer?
    15. Do you have any issues on owning a trailer?
    Any comments:

    Any comments:
I would like a trail that is no wider then my truck and about 10ft long. I would only be haul 2 walk behinds 32" and 36". Plus a craftsman 21" push mower. I would mount a weedwacker rack, and back pack blower rack. On the front would be a small behind the cab tool box for spare blades, tools, and other oddess and ends. I would also have a spot to hold my gas can and lock them up. Had one stolen out of my truck. There would also be a small rack for racks, shovels. It would be a open trailer. I would put a 3,500 axle on it with breaks. My only problem is some of the lawn I do there no parking for a truck and trailer.

    1. White
    2. 16
    3. Residential
    4. No
    5. Toyota, soon to be GMC
    6. yes
    7. Open Landscape trailer
    8. Yes, I don't hve much room in garage
    9. Stihl, Echo, Toro, Honda,
    10. Just handhelds, beg edgers, and tillers, toro dingo etc..
    11. Tool Box
    12. Single Axle
    13. Sometimes
    14.Yes I will explain below
    15. No

My perfect trailer would be... 7x14 Tandem axle, with 3ft side. Racks and cages on it. Fold down rear ramp reinforced so you can haul skids, etc.. Dumping mechanism, and heavy duty build. I would like one like bladescape's, but I want it to dump and be able to haul skids. Basically a do-it-all trailer. Mowing equipment, landscape material, heavy equipment(skids etc.) I know it is a lot to ask for, but that is my idea of a perfect versatile trailer. If you would be interested in helping me fab one up or something I might be interested next year. Let me know, sounds like you got a good idea going though.
