Surviving on just installs

    He subs a lot of the planting stuff down to me. He has an awsome full time hard scaping crew. The key to his business is keeping it simple, he has everything delivered, only has 1 dump truck and very few other trucks. He has one skid steer and an operator for that. Out of all the landscape companies in our area, and there are ALOT he is probally busy for about 9 months out of the year, the only time he doesnt work is when the ground is frozen.

    I think the key to that business is going after the rich clients because they always have money. LOL

    I guess the other thing I should add, is that he could sell ice to an eskimo, thats pretty important too, hes also much older than me almost in his 50s hes really my dads cousin but I learn a lot from him. You have to get out there and sell your prdouct man, puff it up and then do a good job and get all the neighbors!

    We do only consultation, design, and construction, and we only really have a nine month landscape season, so we make a 100% living over 75% of the year. That being said, it was easier before I got married.
