Aside from baseball/football stadiums, have any of you ever seen a residential with a synthetic lawn. I happen to stumble across this website today.

It costs $3.87 sq. ft for Kentucky Bluegrass.

No watering or fertilizing. I guess you could stripe it with a roller.

Someone else brought this up in the past week or so. Unless you have a really tiny lawn, it'd cost and arm and a leg to have a lawn like that installed. All the example lawns they show are pretty small. Their examples say the savings is $1000+ per year in lawn maintenance costs. That's great, but if it costs $20-30,000 to have the lawn installed the homeowner would have to live there that many years to recoup the installation cost.

Bottom line, don't sell you mower!

And they have 5 and 7 year fade warranties - How'd you like to pay $30,000 or more for a 'lawn' and have it fade into a nice shade of puke yellow after 10 years or so. No thanks.
