tandem axel problem?

    why does my rear axle (dual axle trailer) raise and lock when i go over anything uneven. When i jack the whole trailer up with both axles off of the ground the rear axle will drop back into place. i dont know what enough about it. help me out!

    sounds like the equalizers are probably siezing up. try spraying all the pivots with a good peratrating oil and after the free up use a penatrating GREASE once in a while to keep them lubed up.

    The nuts could be a little too tight on those as well. I replaced all of mine this last fall (bolts, bushings, straps, and the Y peice.) and I'm not sure they were sticking, but they sure were creaking and popping!

    Iv'e never seen what the proper torque for those is though. I just know they shouldn't be 100% tight.
