do you have to have a tax i.d number to mow yards i'm in oklahoma
I don't believe its necessary if you're registered as a DBA, unless you want bank accounts in the company name
It's a good idea to have one. First, it's free, and a painless 10 minute phone call to the IRS gets you one. Secondly, if you don't have one, you will have to supply your SS# to some people that you probably don't want knowing that info.
If you are in business and getting paid for a product or service- YES!!
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please try again
If you have employees, yes, otherwise no but you may as well get one.
You might as well get one so you can open up a business account and start establishing a business line of credit also.
Like everyone else has said. You might as well get one. As a sole prop. you can use your ss#, but why?
Identity theft is everywhere, computers get hacked all the time. Why would you want to provide your soc # to all your accounts? Do you really know who is going to have access to your information? Get a FEIN !!!!
You might only be a half step ahead of the law.
