Commercial trimmer. Wanting to know if anyone has ever added grease/lube to the differential on the shaft/reel of any trimmer and if so what weight/type of oil or grease to use. There is a removable bolt to access.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

Yes you're supposed to grease them every so often, not sure exactly but I do mine once a year...
Because if that gear casing ever runs dry...

The trick to it is to use a grease gun and with the flexible tube, take off the zerk bit thing at the end
and now the threaded part should thread right in the hole where the bolt came out of, now you can
    squeeze that stuff in there.

At least mine work that way.

And you can probably do it with a standard steel tube as well but it won't give much...

Already have a paper manual and doesn't say jack about it. I'm more interested in what weight oil/grease to put in it then whether too or not.

    Thanks for the replies!
