tearing up existing lawn

    havent had to tear up existing lawn to install a new. whats the best way to use a tiller or would skid steer with harley rake get it good enough

    Make sure it is mowed low. Then use a roto-tiller and go over it twice. Then use the harley-rake and go over it and smooth it out. That's how we do it.

    If your installing new, I would spray the entire yard first with roundup. This way you won't have too much old grass come back in.

    Are you planning on seeding or sodding the new lawn.???

    roundup, till the crap out of it, rake, seed, fert, pen mulch, roll it, call it a day
