As you can tell from the title, 3.5 hp on my wood chipper isn't running right. It is missing the throttle linkage but that is on order and should be here tomorrow. But shouldn't it at least run anyway, although I know I would haveto manually hold the throttle open? It will only start if I tilt it back and pour gas directly into the carb. It runs for about 5 or 6 seconds, then dies, even with the choke off. It tries to respond when I open the throttle but it runs out of gas. Here's what I know: - there IS fresh gas in the tank and the tank is clean like a new one. - when I take the fuel line off the carb, fuel runs out, so it IS getting to the carb - since the throttle cable is missing, there is nothing connecting the governor to the throttle arm (but I dont' know much about how that works) - I've come to the conclusion that the carb is not siphoning gas through itself but don't know why. What does it sound like is going on here? I'm open for any and all suggestions. Thanks in advance.
