    Don't be discouraged by the "Paco's/Side mower Jim", In-fact give them no thought when you are pricing your bids.
    I saw a guy mowing a yard next one of my accounts a while back who was mowing out of the trunk of his beat up old sedan. His 21" was a pos and so was his Walmart weed-eater. He had his wife sweeping the clippings off the sidewalks with a sweep broom, while their child(2-3yrs) walked around.
    I have seen him soliciting around in a few neighborhoods that I mow in, and I have yet to loose an account to him.
    Just keep providing your clients a quality service that can not be offered by the fly-by-nights. Justify your price (in your work) to your clients, so that they know your value.

    Professional Image, Legit Business, Proper People Skills, and Quality Workmanship are key.
