I was wondering about the drivetrains of those Toro 21" that this guy uses. Do they wear out quickly like all the other non hydros? The Snappers I use are finally getting annoying and I want to switch to a dependable drivetrain that won't wear out and slow down, squeal, slip off the track, get loose, ect.

    ALL DRIVE TRAINS WEAR OUT!

When you find a drive train that won't wear out let us all know.

A blindfolded drunk monkey could repair a Snapper 21" drive but he had better be sharp to fix the Toro.

I have never had a problem w/ the drive of the Toro pro line. One of my Toro 21's is 10 yrs old, and I just grease it regularly. The drive is built well, as the rest of the machine. The Toro proline 21 is a standard piece of equipment on all trailers around here.

We have three toro prolines. All used on a regular basis the oldest is 97' and has a ton of hours on it. I haven't ever looked inside the belt compartment on any of them. The drivetrain is bulletproof. My dealer in Omaha told me that he has only repaired one since they were introduced. This dealer sells a ton of them. I personally have never heard of anyone ever having even a glitch. Buy a proline, never worry about the drivetrain or really anything else (except that pos handle that locks the bag in place, replaced two).

You need to put a lift kit on that mower with the cow catcher. Air ride suspension and overhead lights! We Texans are in the know!
