I have one of those pull behind tine thatchers and was wondering if any of you converted that into a front one on your ZTR? Any pictures would be great. I would like to save a few hundred dollars to do this fabrication. Thanks. kooba.

Did this with an out front F725 John Deere. Bolted a mounting bracket to the front cross bar of the mower frame, unbolted the wheel mounts and turned them to lead the thatcher. Make sure there is a 2 point pivot and not a ridgid connection between the mount and the thatcher so the thatcher can float on its own wheels along the ground in front of the deck. If you don't do this the thatcher will dig into the ground going through a low area and rise off the ground going over a hill. (sorta like a snow plow in front of a truck)

We've used this for about 10 years. With a mulching attachment, it lifts the dead grass and leaves off the ground and grinds them up with the mulcher in one process. On thick areas it might take 2 or 3 passes
