My kind of valve....along w/ Superior & Weather-Matic brass. Nice to see a
schraeder (sp?) valve installed..red brass?...makes my day!

Cast iron body. Brass bonnet. Rated at 300 psi. And that's the standard solenoid you see. They have a oversized very-low-power solenoid available. A one-inch valve weighs eight pounds. Absolute tanks.

Tanks are us.....challenge is to market them....for master valves, yes.....
I have serviced systems with all brass valves..those were the days!

They make a perfect match with the old Thompson brass/iron gear drive rotors. I used to service a few residential systems with Griswold valves and Rainbird 27/37 golf course impact popups, the ones with a cast iron case.

In our market impacts have ceased...when I worked for a school district, all
    heads were rain-bird 27/37..killer stuff...rookies(including me) had a hard
    time adjusting...as came in gear-drives.

I still have some divider cases with the various impact nozzles for brass heads. Haven't opened them in years. Would occasionally make a sick impact zone healthy by changing nozzles. I'll still use impacts on pond water systems.

Excellent point...we had a pond pump system where big nozzles pushed the
gunk thru.....grear-drive unfriendly.....I just never liked that sound!

Every time I think of Griswald I think of Clark and National Lampoon. :)
