My prayers and condolences are with you and your family. I lost my dad to a massive stroke about a year and a half ago. It still hurts, especially this time of year, as we always liked to fish together starting about now. It hurts, but it's getting easier with time. Be there for your Mom, she'll need you more and more in the next few weeks and months. Lots of people here to talk to if you need them, too.

As far as the truck goes, if you want a GOOD powerstroke, find a 7.3 (01 or older), because the 6.0's are JUNK! Many, many, many problems with them ever since they came out in '02. As far as the Dodge is concerned, the '02 and later models are definitely the ones to have if you like replacing injector pumps and lift pumps around every 20 to 30,000 miles or so. PLENTY of info on the web to back that up, too. Hell, they've all got their problems nowadays! I just smile and laugh everytime I pass a Powerstroke, Cummins, or Duracrap in my F350 V10 with a heavy load on back, but I am sure they return the chuckles at me when they pass me up the road when I am stopped at the gas station filing up again! :D

Very sorry to hear about your dad. My dad died when I was 20 also. I'm 47 and still miss him. If your dad was like most, he probably offered advice for life even if you (me) didn't listen. You'll hear him talking to you for the rest of your life.
