how did the process go if you don't mind sharing some details...i had the chance to buy some accounts for a few thousand which i had and it wasn't spent anywhere else. and i declined but looking back on it, i probably should have bought them, did you make the people sign a contract did the guy you were buying out go around to each homeowner or property manager if you bought any commercial accounts and introduce you? did you have to raise any prices, can you elaborate on how things went down.

We didn't sign any contracts, He went/called to each customer and told them what was going on, He Spoke highly of me so people were more comfortable. Then i called them all and met with them all through out about a weeks span.

He gave me a print out of all the services he did for each customer with all the prices he charged. I did not raise any prices because he had them all priced right from the start.

Once i met with everyone they were all fine with the change, and we went about business as usual.

nice sounds like it went smooth, if i get the chance to buy anyone out again, i'm gonna look into a little more before saying no so quick. Did you know this guy at all? i had a complete stranger in the vehicle next to me at a stoplight ask me if i wanted to buy his accounts, his reason for selling them was because he had some bills he wanted to pay off.

Yeah I agree, work here is fairly difficult to get, at least the kind of accounts that we all want to be working at. They've all had someone service their property for a long time, so if anyone sells their company, it sells pretty quick. When I bought one out at the beginning of this season, he wanted everything gone including the equipment and all his gas cans. That can be the tricky part if you don't need the equipment, you have to be able to sell it all quickly and reasonably priced, or sit on it for a while.

This sounds almost identical to the way mine worked out.
