I noticed that the grass in my lawn has some thin spots. It got roughed up a bit last summer changing some landscape. I want to fix it without tearing up the existing grass. Since I spray most of the neighborhood I want my own lawn looking good. My plan was to rent a core aerator, cover the lawn with it a couple of times, sow the grass seed. (I have a Lesco spreader) Then drag a section of chainlink fence around to mix the plugs and seed, finish by rolling the lawn. Will that work? Whats the best way to help a thin lawn?

I just did my lawn that way. I didn't roll in though. I Aerate, seeded, Starter fert, then took a drag I made out of some chain link fence I had in the shed and broke up the cores for better seed contact.

I don't drag my customers lawns. They just get the first 3 steps.
