Kiril has addressed most of your rant, but one issue remains to be cleared up. The purveyors employ "Cross Connection Control Specialists", who dictate (right or wrong) how the water system should be protected. They may have tested once or twice when they got their cert, but they will admit they are not as experienced as the private sector is, plus not having replacement parts on-board, hence they sub it out, which we willingly accepted. Anyone who is not a certified BAT, has no clue how testing goes: for instance, how would you know the difference between a leaking ball valve and a leaking check? It takes years of experience to do a proper test, quickly and efficiently. Your rep is on the line, and if in it for the long haul, you pay attention. By the way, we made a ton of money testing! payup

Back to the topic at hand:

When is smartlink going to have a flow sensor that detects a leak in the system? I asked our rep and I go a run around answer, and he told me to just install a T with a 1/2 female and run the wires for now.

Be nice if they could make this stuff universal, so i wouldn't have to sell the ESP SMT or the solar sync or the baseline sensor, to different penny pinchers who don't want to upgrade controllers.

They do. It's called the Hermit Crab. It's made by ET Water. It works pretty damn good. (now watch Kiril's head explode as he goes off on a rant over interpolated weather data... among other things)

I thought the hermit crab replaced the controller. Worst name for a product ever especially if the site has multiple controllers:rolleyes:
Ok I see "compatible with most major controller brands". Has anyone used these?

I have 6 of them in service right now and another 6 going in about a month. They work really well for what they are. I've also installed two of their Smart Works replacement panels for the RB ESP-MC and those are pretty slick. Took about 10 minutes to install and I had instant central control with flow monitoring.

There is no software as it is all web based. For the life of me I can't remember what the annual subscription fee is right now....
