how have they been holding up for the guys that have them with the 6.4L powerstroke?? im in the $37-$38K range for an XLT X-cab short bed, upfitter switches, tow command, 3.73 gears, etc.

i really wanted to get a used truck, but they want like $30K+ for an 06 with 50k miles. thats only 1 yr left on the bumper to bumper, and 3 yrs left on the engine. and its a 6.0 which is as good as a grenade with the pin pulled.

the new 6.7L cummins in the dodge was nice, has a built in jake brake, sounded sweet, rode like crap. really nice interior. the 08 chevy rode good, very fast, very quite, drove very nice but blah for the interior/exterior in my eyes. the ford is the best looking of the ugly 3 and had a nice interior and handled great.

thoughts from those that have any 08??

yep, they have had great luck with the new one. im at my ford dealer alot gettin updates from friends. they always say, "this is the next 7.3" and the later model 6.0's are fine. you'll be fine with the ford. youll love it. Like ive said i would buy one, but i dont want the emissions stuff.

Well I have heard conflicting stories. On one side my buddy just bought one (08' F350 6.4 diesel 4x4 crew cab). The thing is a beast and very nice with tons of power. He only has a few thousean miles with no problems. And honestly even if he did have a problem he probably wouldnt tell me becuase I gave him so much crap for the price he paid. around $45K. Now on the other hand one of our closest family friends is a Ford Diesel specialist who travels back and forth to the factory and he was a big player in working out the bugs ont he 6.0. Now 2 months ago I was looking for a new truck, his exact words to me were "if i was to buy a diesel I would find a one owner 99-02 7.3. I would never buy a 6.0 and the new 6.4 is so far having problems blowing the radiators and turbos." now I think he said it was the bottom end turbo that he saw was having problems. He told me that if I really wanted a brand new truck that I should wait another year to see how the 6.4 pans out. again this is coming from a Ford diesel guy.

I bought the 7.3 with one owner!! LOL saved about 30 grand in the process.

But I am sure for every negative you here someone will have a positive for it. I can tell you that the one I rode in was a rocket ship!!

Why Buy New...you Can Find A Good Cheap Price If You Look Long Enough. Otherwise, You Are Just Paying For Impatience. I Got A 2005 3500 4x4 Crew Cab With 15k For $23,000.

I bought an 06 F250 close to 2 weeks ago used w/ 54k on it. So far, it has been fine. The power from the 6.0 is really sweet. My buddy drove it the 2nd day I had it and said it would blow the doors off his 99 f250 7.3.

I bought the 7.3 to finish the race not win it! I would take a 7.3 over a 6.0 any day. If I wanted to win races i would have bought a Cummins
