We use Lawn Monkey. It is an all around software product for the green industry. That includes Pesticides and Fertilizations.

I have also demoed Real Green and they seem to be more directed towards the application side, but I think they are able to do more if I am not mistaken.

The cost between those two are very different. Check both out and see what you think.

    I suggest Lawn Monkey.

We just started using Lawn Monkey software this year and love it.
I demo'ed Real Green and some others. Real Green monsterously expensive, but I'm sure an incredible system along with in person support to set it up.
Lawn Monkey support is equaled by none that I know of in any industry. They link to Quickbooks and to Palm Pilots and they also have a forum here that you should check out before you buy.
The forum is what made the final decsion for me.

    Ant,
I see your name in the LM forum so you're doing the right thing.
I feel any new product, mechanical or technical, has a learning curve that you need to overcome, but with repeated use it becomes easier. I just jumped in and started using it on a daily basis, asked for help(no matter how dumb I thought the question was) and now, I'm no expert, but the program has become an effective part of my business.
