Are you saying 18 man hours on this job?
    I dont think so

Mulching supply and install: ± $40 - $50 per yard (or whatever the rate is for your area)
Weeding: $35 per hour (or whatever your rate is for yardwork)

It took me and my son (15 yr) 4.5 hrs (add 2 more hours for pickup and delivery) to install 7 yards of mulch (3-4") at two different properties. We weeded the flower beds at the same time as we went along installing the mulch.

I got the mulch at a landscape supply company for $15 a yard.

    Hope this helps

Yea the job is complete it took 18 man hours and 5 yards of mulch I had a 5x10 trailer full of weeds when we got done and I had two trips to the mulch place to get 2 1/2 yards each time.

    So your price would be $35 x 18 = $630 + $250 for mulch or $880.00 total.

Thanks for moving the thread where it wont get seen !

    Mike,
My mulching fee is a fixed fee and my material, labor, pickup and delivery is included in that. For the weeding part of it I would charge my hourly rate for yardwork.
Therefore the mulching supply and install hours is seperate from the weeding hours and irrelevant in the total hours of the job.
For ex: My invoice would look something like this:

Weeding of flowerbeds, carry away and dump
    12 hours @ $35 per hour = $420
Mulch supply and install 5 yards @ $50 per yard =$250

I hope I made myself clear - I think what I am trying to say is you proportianally double charged for the labor on this job. Two different services with a different pricing structure for each service.

In the DFW area you guys probably get a lot more per yard of mulch intalled than up here in our area.

5 yards with three guys is a 3 hour job including edging.
So you spent 9 man hours doing weeds on a 5 yard mulch job?

Yep weed bed then mulch it.

For three guys here is how it broke down

    Weed beds 6 man hours
    Install mulch 6 man hours
Drive time 1.5 man hours (too pick up mulch)
Clean up and removal 1.5 man hours

It was actually 15 man hours we broke for lunch at 12 and returned at 1

This is a guess we were weeding as we were installing mulch.

    Some beds were pretty bad

You have no idea of the conditions we were working in this was not a dump and spread job. I can do 5 yards solo in 3 hours if conditions are favorable also. I am asking for a price not a critique.

i think you wasted your time pulling the weeds. i would have wacked them down to the ground, sprayed them, mulch on top. price? like you said, i can't see the conditions you were working in.
