    It's not backwards. Stars are always to the front. It's usually backwards on TV and Movie wardrobes when worn on the right shoulder.

    The flag backwards means that the are always moving forward and never retreating think about it if you are running with a flagpole and a flag on it that is the way the flag is shown.....

    Interesting, always thought they were on the left part of the flag. I guess if you're looking through the soldier it makes sense!
