I realize this is a matter of preference, but I am buying my first back pack blower, and I was wondering if there are any major drawbacks (or advantages) for the two types of backpack blower throttle mounts.

    Thanks.

We have Stihl's which have the tube mounted throttle. We use to have a Echo with the separate throttle and tube. It gets in the way when in tight areas. We prefer the tube mounted throttle.

We run all Echos and I gave the option to the guys b4 buying new ones this fall and they all opted for the seperate throttle control away from the nozzle

I prefer tube mounted throttle. I've had both.

I have a RedMax 7001 and it is a hip throttle. I like it a lot, because i dont have to be careful where and how i drop the tube. Imagine if you accidentaly run it over with a mower. It will cost you a lot more than just replacing a plastic tube.

Also, what are you going to do with the left hand if your right hand is doing everything?
