I'm installing a 30 x 20 ft. flagstone patio and wanted to see what everyone recommended for the correct depth, amount of road pack, and sand along with any other ideas for installing the patio. I've installed some small patios before but not one this large and wanted to get some help. The flagstone is about 2 in. thick.

It really depends upon your subgrade soil type, but I'd suggest 6" of road base compacted to about 95% and 1" of sand directly under the flag. Layout the patio with a 2% grade to allow for proper drainage. So basically you need to excavate to a depth of approx. 9".
