To buy or not to buy (lunch)

    How many of you guys out there provide the lunch for your employees? Drinks? Let me know your thoughts on this.

    Drinks?... yes.

    Food?... No. My guys get paid well enough as it is.

    Plus I don't relly feel like shelling out a hundred bucks a day.

    Maybe you should pay them more if they can't afford to feed them selves. That's what they really want more money.

    I bought two of my clients lunch today, after they spent $5,000 with us. Sounds fair to me.

    Save the employee meals for company events.

    When I had staff, I had a couple of barter contracts with restaurants - "plowing for pizza" as we used to say. Friday lunches were on me if schedules were met and they knew, especially the plow drivers working late or long hours, that there was a coffee or hot meal there if they needed it. It didn't cost much and was a good morale builder.

    Sometimes i will buy a lunch or have doughnuts and coffee in the morning toward the end of the week, but its defintely not a habit.
