I have a lot of time this week so I was wondering if it is to early to aerate and overseed in NJ. The weather has been real inconsistent. Last week we had temps in the mid to low 70's then the last couple days it went up and spiked yesterday at 94. The projected outlook for this week is mid to upper 80's. Should I wait one or two more weeks?

I started yesterday and I plan on watering twice a day until cooler weather comes. Drought has killed my yard and I want a head start.

I agree. In Wisconsin the weather has gone from drought and intense heat, to the normal weather and raining again.
Once this happens the seedlings are safe with normal care.
Early establishment is better than later. A winter drought can kill new grass if not old enough when dormancy occurs.
